Miniature Exhibition Invitation

The Renaissance Art Gallery, an artist cooperative in Huntington, West Virginia, is pleased to present its Seventh Annual National Miniature Exhibition
Eligibility: The exhibition is open to all North American residents 18 years or older. All fine art media except copier reproductions accepted. Artwork must be the original and have been completed in 2006-2007.
Number Of Works: Up to 3 pieces of work for each submission. All submitted works will be hung.
Size: Two-dimensional work image area no larger then 4x6 or 24 sq in. Frames no larger then 6 x 8 or 48 sq in. Three-dimensional work limited to 8 inches in any direction, including the base or pedestal.
Framing: Wood or metal frames only (no plastic). Proper framing with wires and screw eyes required. Exception: one-piece molded fine-art miniature frames with metal hinging ring accepted. No Saw-toothed Hangers.
Fees: (Non-Refundable) Delivered and retrieved by the artist: $20.00 (US) per submission. Shipped work: ($30.00 (US) per submission. All shipped work is to come with return postage prepaid. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Make check payable to The Renaissance Gallery.
Shipped Artwork: Entry form, check and shipped artwork are to be sent to:

Packaging must include a sturdy corrugated box, and artwork must be protected with bubble wrap or rigid foam sheet. Do not use packing peanuts or work crates. Exhibition tags should be attached to the back of framed work in the upper right corner and on the bottom of three-dimensional work. Please include a self-addressed return label.
Deadlines: Artwork(s) entry forms and fee must be postmarked by October 15th for shipped work. Hand delivered work be received by the gallery on October 20th thru 21st during normal gallery hours, 12:00-4:00 pm. All awards will be announced at a reception at the gallery Sunday November 4th. Exhibition will run through December 8, 2007. Pick up for work will be Saturday, December 8, 2007, during gallery hours 12-4:00 pm with all shipped work returned the following week.
Juror of Awards:
John Allen Thompson artist – Miniaturist, Currently serving as president of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, DC (MPSGS) Graduated Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University in 1963, Master of Science 1964, Corcoran School of Art – Certification 1989. Mr. Thompson is a member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturist, Somerset, England, the American Art league of Washington DC, the Miniature Art Society of Florida and has many other accomplishments and affiliations to numerous to mention here
Awards and Prizes: Awards in excess of $600 will be given. Awards of Excellence, Merit awards and Purchase awards will be given as well as prizes in merchandise.
Rights, responsibilities and liability: Entries not meeting the above conditions will be rejected. The Renaissance Gallery retains the right to determine the suitability of work submitted for exhibition.
Submission of entry implies:
  • Submitted work is original and does not infringe on any copyright
  • Permission is given to The Renaissance Gallery to reproduce work for publicity
  • Work is consigned for the duration of the exhibit unless special arrangements is made prior to the exhibit
  • The artist commits to donate 20% of each sale to the Renaissance Gallery, all donations being tax deductible.

All reasonable care will be exercised in handling the submitted artwork. The Renaissance Gallery will not be responsible for loss or damage to any submitted artwork. Sending artwork to this exhibit implies the sender agrees with the conditions set forth herein.
