Title: The title of this event is the twenty-fifth annual juried show and competition. It is presented by the Roswell Fine Arts League and New Mexico Miniature Art Society. The show includes competition for standard and miniature sized works from anywhere in the USA or from league members anywhere they reside.
Dates: The show will run fro August 7-17, 2008
Site: The show is presented at the Roswell Museum and Art Center, in Roswell, NM
Cost: Entry fees are $30 for league members and $40 for non-members. This fee allows entry of 4 works. An additional three works may be entered for $10 per entry. Works may be entered in any of four categories (Standard size 2D, Miniature 2D, all 3D, and photo/digital).
Awards: The league will present more than $4,500 in awards.
Reception: the show will open with an evening reception and awards presentation on August 7.
Jury: The jury will meet and consider entries on June 21st. All standard and 3D entries will be juried from slides or CDs and miniatures will be juried from the actual art pieces.
Size: Standard 2D entries must not exceed 48 inches in either direction. Miniature 2d entries must not exceed 20 sq. inches. 3D works must not exceed 50lbs.
Size of show: The size of the show varies with the selection of the jury. Last year, the show included 178 pieces of art.
Notification of acceptance: After the jury selects art on June 21st, the notification is sent to all artists via mail not later than June 28th.
Returned work: All art is returned to the artist in accordance with the artists prearranged procedures.
Sales: All accepted work must be for sale. A commission of 25% will be retained on all sales.
Displays: The art show is displayed in the Roswell Museum and Art Center on cloth covered display boards
or museum pedestals for 3D art. Every possible step is taken to present the show in the highest quality environment.
The Roswell Fine Arts league was organized in 1981 and the New Mexico Miniature Art Society was organized in 1988 as an integral part of the league. We currently have about 115 members, including two members in the United Kingdom.

The Roswell Fine Arts League/New Mexico Miniature Arts Society presents it’s Twenty-Fourth Annual Juried Show and Competition for Standard and Miniature Art to be held from August 7-17th 2008. This show will be held at the Patricia Lubben Bassett Education Center located within the
Roswell Museum and Art Center, 100 West Eleventh Street, in Roswell New Mexico.
ABOUT THE RFAL/NMMAS
Roswell Fine Arts League (RFAL) was organized in 1981. The New Mexico Miniature Arts Society (NMMAS) was organized in 1988 as an integral part of the RFAL.
The goal of the RFAL/NMMAS is to provide programs that create opportunities for artist and art enthusiasts to exhibit, to educate and to explore means of developing artistic skills and knowledge. The annual juried show sponsored by the RFAL/NMMAS is one of the major programs designed to meet the goals of the league.
ABOUT THE JUDGES
Kim Wiggins, from Roswell, NM, is a nationallyknown artist whose works are housed in such collections
as the Anschutz Collection and the Museum of New Mexico. He is also listed in Who’s Who in American A
and Who’s Who in the World. He is represented by theAltermann Galleries in Santa Fe and New York.
Cecilia Stanford is a mosaic artist and sculptorfrom Silver City, NM. She is represented by such galleries
as the Blue Dome Gallery in Silver City and the ShidoniGallery in Santa Fe.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The 2008 show is open to all RFAL/NMMAS ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The 2008 show is open to all RFAL/NMMAS members, regardless of where they live. It is also open to non-members in all fifty states. Submitted work
must not have been shown in previous RFAL/NMMAS shows. All work must be original, and not prepared under supervision of an instructor. Work must have been completed within the last two (2) years.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES
June 11, 2008 is the last day for applications for entry to be received. (Note: Both slide/CD entries and original artwork for miniature entries are due on this date. Jurying of the entries will take place on June 21. Notification of jury results will be sent by June 28, 2008.
ENTRY FEES $30.00 for RFAL/NMMAS members (
$40.00 for non-members) for four works. Up to
3 more entries may be submitted at
$10.00 per entry. These works may be submitted in any of the four categories, (i.e. an artist might enter four works-two as standard 2D and one as Miniature 2D and one as Digital Art. Up to three more entries may be submitted and may also be placed in any of the four categories. Or an artist may submit all works in one category. The category for each entry must be checked on the Entry Form.) Entrants may
join the league for a
$20.00 (annual) fee, entitling them to enter from wherever they live at the “membership” rate.
SHIPPING OF WORKS Miniature 2D-Shipped works must be
prepaid and include

PRIZES AND AWARDS Judging will take place on
August 6, 2008, in all categories. Approximately $4500.00 in prizes will be awarded.
LIABILITY All entries will receive careful handling. However, neither the RFAL/NMMAS nor the Roswell Museum and Art Center can assume liability for slides or artwork. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Entry constitutes the artist’s agreement to abide by these liability stipulations, and the rules of the show.
HANDLING FEE There will be a
$10.00 handling fee for all shipped work.
SALES All accepted work
must be for sale. A
commission of 25% (15% to RFAL/NMMAS and 10% to the Roswell Museum) will be retained on all sales.
RETURN OF WORKS Hand delivered items
must be picked up no
later than noon, (12:00 p.m.) August 18, 2008. All items not hand delivered will be shipped out on August 18, 2008 using the instructions and return shipping fees supplied by the artist.
