Contest rules


1. Eligibility :
This juried exhibit is open to professional artists in the crafts and visual arts field who produce original pieces, unique, or of a limited number.

2. Exhibition categories :

• Two dimensions
• Three dimensions

3. Dimensions :
• Two dimensional artwork: maximum size cannot exceed a total image area of 75 square centimetres (12 inches). For example 3 x 4 or 2 x 6 inches or smaller. The maximum size of the frame must not measure more than 100 centimetres (40 inches) of perimeter (total contour).
• Three dimensional art work: maximum size cannot exceed 7,5 x 7,5 x 10 cm (3x3x4 inches) or the equivalent of 560 cubic centimetres (36 inches) including the stand or support.

4. Presentation :
Each piece must :
• Be signed by the artist
• Have an arrow on the back or bottom indicating the right direction
• Be priced in Canadian dollars
• Be framed and ready to mount on a chain and hook system or have a suitable stand or support in order to be properly presented.

5. Registration :
• Complete the registration form and send a short (maximum 5 pages) resume/ portfolio.
• Each artist is allowed two entries per category.
• All works must be postmarked by March 30th 2007.
• An entry fee of $20 (CDN) is required for the first entry and $15 (CDN) for additional entries. Customs fees, if any, will be paid for by the artist.
• Please refer to the registration form for return shopping fees of unsold work.
• Fees must be paid in Canadian funds in the form of a money order, Visa, Master card or Western Union made out to “Corporation du Presbytère Saint-Nicolas.


6. Selection of works :
• A pre-selection of the works that will be part of the Internationale d’art miniature exhibit will be juried by a selection committee.
• All work that does not comply with the requirements stated will be refused.
• The jury, formed by recognised individuals in the arts will select the winning works, and award the prizes. The jury’s decision will be final.


7. Prizes :
• A total of $5000 CAD will be awarded in prize money.

8. Sales and commission :
• All works submitted for the exhibition must be, and will be for sale.
• A 30% commission will be kept by the Corporation du Presbytère Saint-Nicolas on all works that are sold during the exhibit. Each artist will determine the selling price of his or her framed work.

9. Copyrights :
• Reproductions (photos) of the work will be used exclusively for the promotion of the event itself and will not be for sale.

10. Insurance :
• The Internationale d’art miniature and the city of Lévis will be liable for the works while in their possession
• The liability covers theft, fire and damage while handled and displayed during the exhibit.
• Liability is not accepted beyond the value of the work.

11. Return shipping :
• All work not sold will be returned to the artist at the latest 60 days after the end of the exhibit provided that shopping fees were included with the registration form.
• Custom fees, if any, will be paid by the artist. Art work will be returned in its original packaging via the postal service. Please wrap each work in a padded envelope or bubble wrap and secure with rubber bands or string – not tape.
• Please include a self-addressed return label with work
